Seminar by Dr. Leonardo Minelli, Marvell Inc. on DSP architectures and algorithms for High-speed Data Center Intra-connects

On Thursday 2026 May 28th - 2:30 pm Classroom 9I Dr. Leonardo Minelli, Marvell Inc.  will give a seminar on "DSP architectures and algorithms for High-speed Data Center Intra-connects"

This seminar will present the key Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms and architectures employed in integrated circuits for short‑reach electrical and optical communications, which are heavily deployed in modern data centers. Particular emphasis will be placed on receiver‑side DSP techniques, including the application of the Least Mean Squares (LMS) algorithm for adaptive channel equalization.

In addition, the seminar will introduce the research and development activities of Marvell Technology Italy (Pavia), a U.S.-based semiconductor company specialized on chip design for AI and data center connectivity.

Information on internship opportunities and thesis projects within the Marvell System and Architecture team will also be provided.

Leonardo Minelli is currently a DSP System and Architecture Engineer at Marvell Technology Inc. in Pavia, Italy, where he is part of the Data Center Connectivity group. He received his Master’s and Ph.D. in Telecommunications from Politecnico di Torino in 2021 and 2025, working on digital signal processing and artificial neural networks algorithms for optical communications with Prof. Roberto Gaudino.
