New paper published today on IEEE Photonic Journal
A new paper of ours was published today in IEEE Photonic Journal: it proposes a novel method for fast alarm generation in case of anomalous events (like large rockfalls or debris flows) in the alpine environment, using polarization-based fiber sensing.
Title: Algorithm Optimization for Rockfalls Alarm System Based on Fiber Polarization Sensing
Authors: Saverio Pellegrini; Giuseppe Rizzelli; Marco Barla; Roberto Gaudino
You can find the paper at this link.
Congratulations to all the co-authors!
Timetable for the lab closure in 2023
The days of LINKS Foundation (and consequently PhotoNext main Laboratory) closures for 2023 have been released. Please read this news to know the details.
Photonext and the II-level Master in "Quantum Communication and Computing"
The student of the II-level Master in "Quantum Communication and Computing" visited our laboratories. You can find all details here.
New paper on IEEE/OPTICA Journal of Lightwave Technology!
A new paper of ours was published today in IEEE/OPTICA Journal of Lightwave Technology: it proposes a computationally very efficient semi-analytical model to predict the performance of ultra-high speed #fiber #coherent transmission systems when polarization dependent loss and bandwidth limitations are particularly relevant.
- Title: An Analytical Model for Coherent Transmission Performance Estimation after Generic Jones Matrices
- Authors: Giuseppe Rizzelli, Pablo Torres-Ferrera, and Roberto Gaudino,
You can find the paper here.
MetroAerospace 2023 - Special session on Optical and Innovative Sensors for Aerospace
The Aerospace team that works inside PhotoNext has organized a Special session on "Optical and Innovative Sensors for Aerospace" in the MetroAerospace 2023 Conference, which will be held in Milan on 2023, June 19-21.
This Session is perfectly superimposed with the PhotoNext research topics on Aerospace applications. Paolo Maggiore and Matteo Dalla Vedova are among the organizers, please contact them for further details.
A new paper of ours was published today in Optics Express!
A new paper of ours was published today in Optics Express (OPTICA Journal) on a possible solution for future optical access network (for FTTH and Fronthauling on PON above 50 Gbit/s per lambda and in particular on 200G PON). This is another paper from the research group of mine that focuses on physical layer solutions for Passive Optical Networks.
Title: "Analysis and experiments on C band 200G coherent PON based on Alamouti polarization-insensitive receivers"
Authors: Abir Hraghi, Giuseppe Rizzelli, Annachiara Pagano, Valter Ferrero and Roberto Gaudino
It is an open access paper, so you can read it “for free” :-) at this link.
Congratulations to all the co-authors!
One PhD position available inside the EWOC Marie Curie Doctoral Network
We have an open PhD position available at Politecnico di Torino, in the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Network “EWOC” (Enabling Virtualized Wireless and Optical Coexistence for 5G and Beyond). EWOC unites world-class academic excellence in optical and wireless convergence for Beyond 5G networks.
"BIENNALE TECNOLOGIA 2022": VISITS TO PHOTONEXT LABORATORIES
